VANHURST  near Bramley, Surrey  was the ancestral home of many of the branches of the Balchin Family. It is a handsome  medieval hall  dating to about 1400 and, of course, much added to throughout the years especially during the 17th and 20th centuries. It was occupied by the family continuously for over 175 years from 1612 and also again at the end of the 19th century.
